Bio
“Versatile & self-taught, Elena Gallen works as an artist & designer based in Barcelona. Her provocative wit has awakened the curiosity of scene-kids, fashionistas and bloggers. Her collections are characterized for twisting popular imagery in a very subtle and appealing manner.”

Elena Gallen (born 1984) is a visual artist based in Barcelona. Graduated from college in Media Studies in Barcelona and filmmaking studies at the New York Film Academy (Hollywood). Experienced in fashion design (prints and illustration) and specially known for her t-shirt collections which quickly garnered a cult-following among the Fashion Elite. Everyone from British fashion designer Giles Deacon, korean popstar Tae Yang, Tom Ford’s new muse Amparo Bonmatí to rockstar Wendy James have been spotted in one.
Versatile and self-taught, Gallen, has been acused of “transvesting” reality. Combining the odd and the sacred, and insired by techonology, nature, the cosmos, cult movies and red lipstick, the character embodied by the artist has become outstanding beyond her creations.
Among her clients you can find VICE magazine, luxury sportswear designers Fashion Designers Krizia Robustella and Roberto Piqueras or clothing company 410BC. Her style icons go from Maira Nurmi (Vampira) to Divine. She’s created what many consider a post-modern cultural icon, the nose bleeding Kate Moss.
Her latest projects include an exquisitly bizarre fanzine called Fuego and a creative studio under the name of Dracula Studio with an edgy and clean portfolio.
Gallen's been sponsored by creative network Promsite.org and californian brand Arnette Sunglasses. Her work has already been exhibited in Madrid, South Korea and Australia.
